BIG ICE Services was required to construct an Ice Pad to support a 500,000lb Kimberlite bulk sample drilling rig at the bottom of Fox Pit near Ekati Mine.  This was a flooded open pit that had been mined out using open pit method.  With this ice pad, they were able to drill all the 24" diameter test holes needed with the bulk sample rig to determine if it is a viable to underground mine the ore body.
