Job Opportunities

Big Ice Services frequently has short term opportunities for skilled labourers and professionals through the seasons, particularly during winter.  Some opportunities are a few weeks in duration, others may be longer.  Often our opportunities are in remote locations across Canada. 

All positions require a team player attitude, good written and verbal communication, ability to work in remote locations, proven work ethic.  Grade 12 preferred, safety tickets and clean drivers abstract are assets.  Candidates familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Teams may be given preference, depending on the role.

Dozer Operator

Must have at least 2 years dozer experience, definite asset to have swamp experience for opening drill roads. Short term, possible December start.  Must pay attention to detail and be safety conscious.  

Ice Road Personnel

Ice Technician (Flooding and Monitoring)  December / January start, short term.  Projects may be anywhere in northern Canada including NWT, northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and into Quebec.  Most are remote camp situations and 12 hour shifts.  

Spray Ice operators

January start and can run to February/March depending on the project.  Operating a spray rig to build ice roads, ice drill pads, etc. Strict attention to detail is essential, 12 hour shifts.  Projects may be anywhere in northern Canada including NWT, northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and into Quebec.  Most are remote camp situations.  

Technical opportunities

Winter start - experienced GPR technicians, Project managers.  We increasingly have short term assignments for GPR technicians for ice monitoring and for project managers / team leads.  Familiarity with Microsoft products such as Excel, Outlook and Teams a definite asset.  Projects may be anywhere in northern Canada including NWT, northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and into Quebec.
